What is WELL?

WELL is a globally recognised certification from the International WELL Building Institute (IWBI), designed to measure, improve, and verify the impact of buildings on human health.

It evaluates a building’s performance across 10 core concepts:

  1. Air – Indoor air quality and ventilation
  2. Water – Clean, accessible, high-quality drinking water
  3. Nourishment – Access to healthy food options
  4. Light – Circadian lighting and daylight optimisation
  5. Movement – Active design for physical wellbeing
  6. Thermal Comfort – Optimal temperature and humidity conditions
  7. Sound – Acoustics that support focus and wellbeing
  8. Materials – Safe, non-toxic material use
  9. Mind – Mental health and stress reduction strategies
  10. Community – Social equity and community engagement

Projects can pursue:

  • WELL Certification (Core, Shell, or Whole Building)
  • WELL Health-Safety Rating (focused on operations, cleaning, and safety protocols)
  • WELL Equity Rating (centred on inclusion and social equity in design and operations)

Why This Service Exists

Buildings directly shape human health and performance — from productivity and creativity to mental wellbeing and absenteeism rates. WELL transforms buildings from functional spaces into environments that inspire, engage, and protect the people who use them.

Yet achieving WELL certification requires more than box-ticking. It demands a deep understanding of building systems, design integration, and occupant needs.

At LifeProven, we bridge that gap — combining technical WELL expertise with real-world ESG and workplace strategy. We don’t just deliver certification; we help create spaces that drive health, happiness, and commercial success.
